Visit to Charleston Workshops

Scottish Specialist training Centre for Building Conservation
Traditional Building Skills — Ecological Building

Meet at Lime Centre at 10am

The visit will consist of:

• Workshop Exhibition — 15-20 minutes and welcome tea/coffee
• Short power point presentation on the work of the Scottish Lime Centre - 20 minutes
• Heritage Walk to historic limekilns and experimental limekilns — 40 minutes.
• Demonstration of slaking quicklime in the yard — 15 minutes.

The whole visit takes about 2 hours. Toilets are available.

Fellows of the Society are asked to confirm their intention to take part with the Secretary as numbers are restricted to 20. You are welcome to bring guests, provided there are enough places free.

If any Fellows wish to visit the palace at Culross and the historic village Bob Reekie will be delighted to act as leader for the visit after lunch.
