4th Meeting of the 183rd Session (2003-2004)

"Dynamic Earth: a resource for the future"

Dr Stuart Monro
President of the Scottish &
Scientific Director, Dynamic Earth

In the Wolfson Suite, Ground Floor
Edinburgh University Library
George Square, Edinburgh
On Monday 23rd February 2004, at 7 pm

Our Dynamic Earth has now been a feature in Edinburgh since 1999. 5 years down the line is a suitable time to reflect on whether or not it has been successful in achieving its objectives and how it needs to develop in order to do what is necessary to meet the needs of Society from 2004 onwards. The importance of engaging with science will be explored in the light of the recent report by the Scottish Science Advisory Committee and the role of science and discovery centres like Dynamic Earth investigated as a way of helping people get to grips with a dynamic scientific environment.
